Basic Leadership & Age Level Training
Training Up for
the Next Age Level & BLT
Tuesday, June 5, 9 a.m. - noon
Ashland Service Center
Cost is $5.00 per adult, for lunch. Send fee with registration. Please make
check(s) payable to GSWRC.
Bring a notepad, pencil, and Leader Notebook.
Please register with the Ashland Service Center by June 1. Minimum 3, per age
level – maximum 10, per age level. Please specify which age level when
registering. Get a head start for the fall. Take the next age level so that you
will be ready for your girls in the fall.
Enrichment Trainings
History of Girl Scouts Training
Saturday, April 7, 1 – 4 p.m.
Morehead State University, Morehead
Cost is $6.00 per adult. Send fee with registration. Please make check(s)
payable to Area 5 Girl Program Account.
Bring a sack lunch.
Please register with the Morehead Girl Scout office by March 30. Minimum 10 –
maximum 30. Learn about the History of Girl Scouting and how the Girl Scouts
have changed over the years. Learn fun information and fun activities to take
back to your troop.
Flags and SWAPS
Wednesday, April 11, 6 – 8 p.m.
Floyd County Library, Prestonsburg
Cost is $5.00 per adult. Send fee with registration. Please make check(s)
payable to Pikeville Girl Program.
Please bring scissors and a glue gun.
Please register with the Pikeville Girl Scout office by April 4. Minimum 6 –
maximum 25. A great workshop! You’ll leave knowing some fabulous flag ceremonies
to use in your troop, and ten different SWAP ideas.
Nature Crafts, Games and Fun
Thursday, April 26, 6 – 8 p.m.
London Service Center
Cost is $1.00 per person. Send fee with registration. Please make check(s)
payable to GSWRC-London Girl Program.
Please register with the London Service Center by April 12. Minimum 8 – maximum
20. Make funny, fuzzy owls and beautiful note cards using natural materials.
Learn to play games designed to increase awareness of the outdoors. Explore
basic outdoor skills such as knot tying. Outdoor resources available for
check-out. Leaders may bring their registered Girl Scout daughters. A fun
training for new leaders and those who prefer “troop Beverly Hills” outdoor
activities.
CPR/First Aid Trainings
Community CPR & First Aid
Saturday, March 31, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Somerset office
Cost is $10.00 for first adult in troop, $30 for each additional adult in troop.
Send fee with registration. Please make check(s) payable to
GSWRC- Area 1 Girl Program.
Please register with the Somerset Girl Scout office by March 16. Minimum 6 –
maximum 10. Wear comfortable clothing. No make-up.
CPR & First Aid

Cost is $10.00 for first adult in troop, $25 for additional adults in troop.

Packing list will be sent upon registration.

9. Minimum 6 – maximum 20. Please include email address for confirmation and
list of what to bring. For more information please contact Cathy Feltham via

25. Required training to take your Troop Camping. One step closer to your
Leadership Development Pin. Must stay the entire weekend to be certified.
Troop Camp Training 1, 2, 3
Friday, June 1, 7 p.m. – Sunday, June 3, noon
Camp Richard Clark, Winchester
Cost is $20.00 per adult. Send fee with registration. Please make check(s)
payable to Area 5 Girl Program Account.
Packing list sent upon registration. Please bring your own tent.
Please register with the Morehead Girl Scout office by May 18. Minimum 10 –
maximum 30. This training is required if you plan to take your troop camping.
You must stay the entire weekend to be certified.
Troop Camp Training

Basic Orienteering

Bring pencil, paper, and a compass if you have one.
Please register with the Morehead Girl Scout by May 20. Minimum 5 – maximum 12.
Learn fun ways to use a map and compass. This is a BASIC skills class.
Adventure Team Training (Level 1)

maximum 20. Are you interested in assisting in the Council’s Adventure Program?
This is a basic training for girls and adults ages 16 years and up that would
like to help run the climbing towers and other adventure elements. You will
learn about the Council’s adventure program, safety issues, and belay techniques
and upcoming opportunities to use your skills.
