95 Miles Along Wilderness Road
This year we celebrate our 95 Anniversary year and also
the merger of two wonderful councils. Girls and adults
can celebrate Girl Scout’s rich history, as well as learn
about our big new council.
There are enough 95 Miles Along Wilderness Road activity
booklets so that every member of the council may have
one. The booklet features 50 different activity ideas
designed to enhance troop program.
Girls earn “miles” for participating in Girl Scout programs
such as earning Try-Its, receiving the Bronze Award,
finding out how Girl Scouting began, creating a card to
celebrate Thinking Day or visiting the council’s web site.
Girls even earn “miles” for participating in the Cookie Sale which supports
the council’s programs and events.
There are 50 different activities, with over 377 designated miles. Girls earn
the patch when 95 miles are accumulated.
Troop leaders should label each booklet with the girl’s name and hand them
out in a troop meeting when they are ready to record the miles. There is a
milestone diary on the last two pages of the booklet to keep track of all miles
earned.
The 95 Miles of Adventure patch is a replica of the 75 Miles Along Wilderness
Road patch except that it is red and gold and now we are pleased that ½ of
Kentucky is highlighted in silver. The cost of the patch is $1.50.
