Volunteer Opportunities in

Girl Scouts-Wilderness Road Council

What can adults do in Girl Scouting?  Here are just a few ideas:

Volunteer Positions in Girl Scouting Include:

Troop Leader - work with a specific group of girls; leadership training (free) and some additional training may be required.

Assistant Troop Leader - same requirements as Troop Leader.

Troop Consultant - share specific skill or ability with a group of girls on single or on-going basis.

Board Member - shape the future of the council with policy-making activities, training required, meets 5 times per year.

Badge Consultant - help girls earn a recognition by guiding them through the required activities.

Service Team Member - work with adults in local areas, help organize troops, conduct trainings, develop programs, administer product sales. Some training required per position.

Single Girl Mentor - assist a single girl in career mentoring.

Chaperone/Transportation - assist troops with travel either/or as an adult chaperone or carpooling.

Special Event Instructor - use your skills to teach girls or adults a skill at a one-day special event.

Troop Product Sale Chairperson - organize the Fall Product sale and the Cookie Sale for a troop. Requires special training, organizational, budgeting and computer skills.

Program Coordinator - be in charge of organizing and running program events for girls.

First Aider - be available for troops traveling or camping as a required First Aider. Red Cross First Aid certification required.

Task Force Groups - short-term or single focus commitment studying specific topic for council-wide or Board of Director's consideration.

Fund Development - assist with the council's fund development efforts; may include events, grant opportunities, solicitations, and collaborations.

 

*All adults working with girls are required to complete a Criminal Background Records Check Release Form.*
